You can book Your newborn photo session as early as Your 20 weeks scan, to secure Your slot:)

What to expect from Your session

A newborn session time is usually 2-4 hours and takes place in the morning. We start at about 9-10 am. This allows us time to feed, change nappies as well as change props and blankets. It is best to feed the baby shortly before the session so they have a full belly and are happily asleep

You may have some props of your own to incorporate into the session (baby’s blanket or first teddy bear, etc.) You are welcome to bring them along with You. You can also have a family shots with your baby.

Older brothers and sisters are more than welcome to have a few shots taken with a baby. Depending on their age they can hold the baby, kiss, sit next to the bucket/basket or lay with them on the floor. Please keep in mind that younger children (under 4 years old) can get bored easily and may not want to ‘play’ for too long, so please arrange someone to keep them entertained once we have done siblings shots.

What to wear

The room will be quite warm during the session to keep your baby nice and cosy so please wear thin layers in case you get too hot. It’s best to wear pastel coloured clothes without too much pattern and with no pictures/writing on.

Please keep your baby in loose fitting clothes to avoid any lines on their skin; a simple button up sleepsuit is best. Baby is photographed naked during the session, so don’t worry about any special clothes for them. I will provide all the props.

During the session I will use white noise which helps to keep baby settled. Some babies need more time to fall asleep, that’s why we allow up to 4 hours for the session.

I set up my studio in my living room. It’s not huge, but enough for those little precious newborns to be photographed.

What to bring:

For baby: nappies, bottles and milk if baby is bottle fed, dummy (good to have one even if your baby doesn’t use it. Just in case we can’t settle baby any other way. But don’t worry if you don’t want to use one).

For parents: you are welcome to bring some lunch or snack in case session takes longer than planned. Some books, magazines, phone etc.
